I sit at the computer a little more tan than I was a week ago, having just returned from the SIA Trade Show and then a few days of surfing and diving in San Diego with my good buddy Matt. I went to the trade show to support my clients and friends at Liberty Skis, as well as to drum up some business for the next year. The SIA, or Snowsport Industry Association trade show has been held in Las Vegas for the last 37 years. It is equal parts industry conference, circus, musical venue, and rowdy bar. I haven’t been in a couple of years, but as this was the last year it would be in Vegas (Denver next year…Yeah!!!), I felt like it was a good time. Plus, I had a ticket voucher I had to use…

Liberty’s booth is always a good time, and they were using a couple of my images from our last shoot as banners. Yea, that’s me lurking like a bouncer.

They were 4′x6′ and they looked really good, so I’m pleased. Love the D3.

Dan giving the pitch to some buyers. You’ll see he’s holding my skis for next year…the Genome. Seriously, they are going to rock.

The future.

Jim Satloff talking to Tom Winter and Skiing Magazine Editor Jake Bogoch.

Dan reveling in his awesomeness.

Tanner Hall stopped by the booth to say he loved the skis and chat with Jim, Pip, and David. When the best skier in the world likes your boards, you’re stoked.

Since I’m talking about all of this Liberty stuff, I figured I’d give myself a big pat on the back for getting a cover shot with one of the images from our shoot last year. Mike Hornbeck is killing far-west Vail for the Cover of V Magazine.

Getting covers rules.
