While winter in the mountains is absolutely amazing, we might like Vail summers even better. The weather is perfect, everything is 50% off (woot!), and there are a ton of killer things going on. One of my favorite is the Teva Mountain Games, which rolls to town featuring great music, lots of goodies, and the best mountain athletes around. There is simply no better place to see the sickest athletes competing side by side in a load of amazing mountain sports. The after parties aren’t bad either…
Brad Ludden is a local…and global kayak legend. Check out his awesome non-profit organization at First Descents. These guys give kids with cancer an opportunity to heal mind and body while playing outside in the mountains.
Freestyle kayaking is one of the most popular events.
The crowd gets amped up for the bouldering competition which is a World Cup stop, bringing out the worlds best climbers.
